Lampasas' eighth-grade "B" team started with two big wins.

"The girls came out on fire our first game against Salado," Wiley said. "They dominated every aspect of the game and won 25-10, 25-12. The second match was against South Belton. The girls started off strong, but then relaxed and let South Belton catch up.  We regrouped and finished them off 25-22.  We didn't mess around in the second set and played fantastic team volleyball. We won 25-12."

The Lady Badgers' seventh-grade "A" team lost to Crawford, won against Lamar and lost to Academy in the consolation match.

"Even though we did not win ... the girls played much harder and hustled to get to every ball," Wiley said. "We made better passes and backed each other up more than we have in the past. I am very proud of the way the girls played and did not give up in the last game. They have definitely grown as a team."

Lampasas dropped close seventh-grade "B" matches against Salado and Bonham.

Against Salado, the Lady Badgers fell short 23-25, 24-25.

Set one against Bonham ended in a 23-25 loss for LMS.

"During the second set, the girls were determined to win and did 25-18," Wiley said. "We went into the third set point for point. The girls decided to leave it all on the court, and they did. Bre Quarles, Emily Brister, Koren Newkirk and Zada Goricki were aggressive at the service line. This game was a heart-breaker, 14-15."
